Areas & Points of Interest
It's the long-awaited return to Evansdale Glen and Carey's Creek! There will be some sweet, undulating single track, steep climbs, flowing descents, wet feet, (probably) mud, and maybe even evidence of neighbourhood goats. Starting from the carpark at Evansdale Glen (see below for details on getting there), we'll head alongside Carey's Creek for several km, swapping sides a couple of times, to reach the bottom of the Rongomai Track. Initially calling for hands-on-knees, this steep track climbs the ridge right up to Mountain Road. After a short jog along Mountain Road, we'll enjoy the fun-filled descent provided by Honeycomb Track (grippy shoes recommended if the track is wet) back to the creek. From here it's a trot back along Carey's Creek, as we retrace our steps to the carpark. It's a great outing and one that we should all enjoy. The ascents and descents up/down Rongimai and Honeycomb Tracks are decent, so come prepared with good footwear and energy! There are several crossings of Careys Creek, so be prepared for wet feet also. The estimated distance is 11.5km and approximately 500m of total ascent. The forecast looks good, but come prepared, as always, for any type of weather. Headlamps are required. Please be sure to leave extra travel time to the start. We'll wait a few minutes longer for those who aren't there by 6 pm if they've responded as attending. Please post any transport offers/requests in the comments. Hope to see you there! Getting to Evansdale Glen: The entrance is on the main road north, on the left just past Arc Brewery and the turn-off to Warrington. About 200 metres after the uphill passing lane begins, you'll see a yellow sign pointing to the left (streetview: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uXbuSydKVxByA27L7) — turn in here and follow the short access road to the carpark.

View on Strava ↗So good to get back to Carey's Creek with the crew. The climb up Ronogomai always kills my legs. Super chilly by the river but so nice higher up
