Meeting at the *front* car park at Logan Park High School, we'll head to the Centre Road 4WD road before diverting onto the gut-busting Telecom Track. It's a short(ish) but steep slog to the lookout, but we're not yet done with climbing. Eventually we'll reach the trig and telecommunications towers that mark the true top of the hill. Heading downhill on farm tracks, we'll eventually reach Cleghorn Street and begin a gentle and winding descent down North Road to North East Valley. From there it's a flat jog to the bottom of Blacks Road for the run's final climb to Ōpoho, before dropping down to the Big Easy and back to the start. All up, it's around 12 km and 550 m of up. It can be cold at the top so be sure to pack an extra layer or two. Head torches are essential.
