Areas & Points of Interest
This week's run will start from the end of Frasers Road, Kaikorai Valley (see location). It is a varied run on tarmac, unsealed roads, single track and across farmland. Starting off up the old Frasers Gully track we emerge on Dalziel Road. Here we have an unavoidable road section to and up Flagstaff-Whare Flat Road until the intersection with Laing Road. There we'll pick up the Fir Trader trail which follows a gentle uphill course to emerge near the Bull Ring. Crossing the road, we head up towards Flagstaff. Following a quick detour to the summit, we'll retrace our steps to the top of the Spiers Track. Descending through flax, farmland, and some possibly muddy single track, we emerged onto Spiers Road. A short section of tarmac follows before we drop down a suburban track back to our cars. Estimated distance of 12-13 km and just a shade over 500 metres of total ascent. The weather forecast looks good but it can be quite cold on the top so bring an extra layer or two. Headlamps are essential. See you then!

View on Strava ↗Massive group of 16 with heaps of enthusiasm. Got a good rain shower coming down Spiers Track in classic biv style. Sorry for the blurry pic 😬
