Short and sweet this week

This is a great wee loop on road and trail. Starting in Macandrew Bay, a bit of sweat will be expended straight away up Greenacres Road/Track. Then we head through Pukehiki and turn along Camp Road. Taking the track behind Larnach Castle we enjoy a steady, somewhat slippery (at the moment) downhill before a short stretch (with a couple of small climbs, boggy ground and a “friendly” sheep) through farmland to McTaggart Street and down to the harbourside. All that remains is a couple of flat kilometres back to Macandrew Bay. Estimated distance of 9.2 km and approximately 400 metres of total ascent. Portobello Road is closed between Marne Street Vauxhall Yacht Club, so there is a diversion up Larnach Road that’ll add a small amount of time.
