Areas & Points of Interest
With a few people away running in Naseby this week, this week's run will be a cruisy, self-led run. For those heading along, meet at the George Street entrance to Woodhaugh Garden (near the bridge) and start off at 6pm once everyone has arrived. From here make your way through the garden and out to Malvern Street. Head across the road to Woodhaugh Street and into Ross Creek. Once in the bush, take a left over the river at the crossing point and take the lower track to Ross Creek Waterfall. Take in the sights and then make your way across Burma Road and back into the bush on the other side of the road. After crossing Burma Road a second time you will have made it to the Ross Creek Reservoir. From here go past the reservoir, take the last right, go up the steps, past the stone ruin, and out onto Tanner Road to the Pineapple Track carpark. Head left into the forest along Booth Road (towards Redwoods) and then take a right up McGouns. After McGouns head down Pineapple Track (right), back onto Tanner Road, and back into Ross Creek. Run past the ruin and take the next track on the right. Follow this track around the reservoir to the star installation. Run down Steep Track below the reservoir and retrace your steps back through the bush to the car. I think I made that sound more complicated than it is! Basically Woodhaugh, Ross Creek, waterfall, reservoir, McGouns, Ross Creek, reservoir, and Woodhaugh :) All up it should be less than 10km. Have a great time and remember your headtorches!
