Route Details

The weather forecast is looking a tad iffy this week, so we'll seek out a little cover. Meeting on Norwood Street (just before the entrances to Forrester Park and Bethunes Gully), we'll take the tried and true climb to the top of Kapukataumahaka Mt Cargill (not forgetting to touch the trig), before heading down the track to the Organ Pipes. It's up to the weather to determine the rest of the route. If it's dry, we'll head down to Mt Cargill Road, along the road to Upper Junction, then a quick descent down the chute of Norwood Street to the start. If it's wet, we'll retrace our steps to the junction with the main track, then head back down to Bethunes. Either way, it'll be around 12 km and 600 m (yes, actually, this week 😐) of vert. Headlamps and warm gear essential. See you there!

Three of us tonight for nice run up and down Kapukataumahaka Mt Cargill. Strangely warm in a few spots
