Predator Patrol

This week’s route has a bit of tarmac, single track and unsealed road to cover. It is approx. 13.8km and some 680 metres of total ascent. The weather looks fine for Thursday, but remember to come prepared. Headlamps essential! This week we will meet at the start of the Orokonui Lagoon Walk (see location) on Doctors Point Road. The route starts with an undulating tarmac jaunt along to the base of White Road where the climbing begins. Initially this is on an unsealed road before switching onto Mopanui Ridgeline and Dave’s Tracks. Reaching the junction with the Orokonui Ecosanctuary perimeter fence we then commence our travel on the Perimeter road to the top of the site before heading back down the western edge to the single track back to the Lagoon and the waiting cars.
