Areas & Points of Interest
This week we return to the well known trails leading up to and around Flagstaff. The intention is to cover 14km and incorporate some 700-800 metres of ascent, so there’ll be a steady pace set to keep us moving along. We are starting at the end of Cannington Road (see location). We’ll ascend via Ross Creek, head up McGouns and the Old Pineapple tracks to Flagstaff. We then run down to the Bull Ring car park before ascending the Firebreak Track back to the Pineapple Track. We then descend the Pineapple and back through Ross Creek to Burma Road. The final stretch and climb is on the tarmac of Burma Road. It’s a decent outing and just what we all need as Christmas approaches. Come prepared for the exposed conditions on top, as the forecast indicates the possibility of drizzle (although warm temperatures).
