Don’t go chasing waterfalls

It's short outing this week, as I'm a little short on time. Let's meet at the base of the Pineapple Track (see location). We’ll head off up Leith Valley Road to the base of Nichols Track. It’s an unrelenting, in places, muddy climb to the Pineapple Track. Time permitting we’ll take a short side trip to the waterfall. Obviously, once on the Pineapple Track the going improves. We’ll continue to Flagstaff summit before returning down the Pineapple/McGouns Tracks and back to the cars. Will you need head torches this week? Possibly not, but I'd bring them just in case, particularly for the bush sections. You'll be able to stow them soon enough. Approximately 9.5 km and somewhere in the 500 - 600 metre total ascent range. See you there. Back to something more adventurous next week for the final run before the clocks spring forward.
