Areas & Points of Interest
The weather deities look to be brewing up another patch of inclement (a.k.a rubbish) weather approaching Dunedin on Thursday evening. Therefore, we’ll keep it short and under, or near, cover. Starting at the South Road junction with Three Mile Hill Road (see approx. location), we’ll head into the maze of forestry roads and trails in the Whare Flat area. Mostly easy underfoot, there are a couple of sections to keep us honest! A short outing of 9-10 km and a small amount of total ascent (approx. 400m). Hopefully, that allows us to avoid the worst of the next patch of wintry weather. Headlamps essential. It might also pay to pack a seam-sealed jacket for the jog.
