Areas & Points of Interest
Roll back to 19th March 2020 and we had a great evening on this loop with a crowd of 23. Six days later and we were all familiar with Alert Level 4, bubble and glued to the daily briefings. Join us this week to celebrate a year on and essentially a normal existence! This is a great wee loop on road and trail. Starting in Macandrew Bay, a bit of sweat will be expended straight away up Greenacres Road/Track. Then we head through Pukehiki and turn along Camp Road. Taking the track behind Larnach Castle we enjoy a steady downhill before a short stretch (with a couple of small climbs) through farmland to McTaggart Street and down to the harbourside. All that remains is a couple of flat kilometres back to Macandrew Bay. There is a big event happening, so I heard, at the end of this month. So, this week and next will be fairly gentle. Estimated distance of 9.2 km and approximately 380 metres of total ascent.
