Areas & Points of Interest
We're light on numbers this week, so Tom has kindly offered to lead this week's run. Meeting at the locked gate at the intersection of Whare Flat and Laing Roads, we'll head straight into the forest up the Fir Trader track, which pops back out at the Bullring. Heading across the road, we'll begin the ascent up the Firebreak track, heading as far as Pineapple Junction. From here, it's the well-trodden path up and over Flagstaff — stopping at the summit to grab a quick selfie and admire the stunning view over Ōtepoti — then we'll send it down the hill back to the Bullring. Crossing back over the road once more, we'll finish up with a short trot along Longridge and Laing forestry roads back to the start. The total length is just under 12 km, with around 450 m of climbing. The weather forecast is warm and windy, but with possible late showers - packing an extra layer might be a good idea. Have fun and thanks again Tom!
