Keep your Powder Dry

The weather forecast (currently) looks perfect for a dry run in Silverstream! This area has numerous tracks and is now the setting for Silverstream Spin and Pigs Backyard Ultra, but before it gets busy we’ll return for a short jaunt on a few of the paths covered in both events. Meet at the car park (see location). It is a bit further out this week, so hopefully I make it on time. I’ll try! From the car park we’ll retrace our tyre marks back up the road to the Chalkies Hill track. It’s a good grunt to the top of Powder Hill before we enjoy a glide back down to Silver Stream and then a bit of a loop on Racemans and Tunnel Tracks. It is approx. 10.5-11 km this week and some 600 metres odd of total elevation. It will be a hands-on-knees pump up Chalkies Hill, so come prepared! Head lamps essential. Time to get back into it and return to the balmy warm conditions that Dunedin’s winter is renowned for! See you there….
