Eyes in the night.

It's time to return to the Peninsula and throw in a variety of running surfaces: tarmac, unsealed roads, farmland routes and single track. The recent wet weather will have watered the trails nicely! Meeting in Macandrew Bay (see location) we'll head out on the cycle path towards Company Bay. A short interlude through farmland breaks up the tarmac travel to Bacon Street. Ascending Bacon Street we swing up Bacon Track towards the site of Hunter's House. The ascent continues up the Smith-Larnach Track to the rear of Larnach Castle. Travel quickens as we reach Camp Road through to Pukehiki, before an enjoyable descent down Greenacres Track/Street back to the beginning. An estimated distance of 13.2km and some 500-odd metres of ascent. Headlamps essential if you want to avoid the numerous sheep on route! See you there.
