Will there be snow?

Winter has certainly arrived this past week. There was a decent dusting of snow on the tops this weekend and, possibly a little more this week. We can’t miss a potential opportunity to trot through the white stuff…..fingers crossed. This week we return to the Pineapple car park (see location). Heading down Islay Street we’ll pick up Leith Valley Road as far as the Nichols MTB track. Taking the zig-zagging track through the relative cover of the bush we’ll, eventually bust out of the never-ending switchbacks and onto the Moon Track. It is then a quick transit along Swampy Summit Track to the top of the Pineapple and the direct descent back to the cars. An estimated distance of 12 km and some 550 metres of ascent. Headlamp and layers essential. Looks like there will be a bit of precipitation. See you there.
