Route Details

The weather looks to be improving from midweek, but the recent precipitation will have insured the trails are starting to increase their muddiness in preparation for winter. Meeting at the Port Chalmers Golf Club (see location) we head up the now familiar track past Southern Reservoir and onto Cedar Farm Road. Heading past the reservoir we take the short, but sharp track onto the flat summit of Mt Cutten. We will descend the southern side of Cutten emerging into the quarry on Mt Cargill Road. A short tarmac section follows to the top of Grahams Bush Track. Descending to Hall Road we then have another short tarmac section back to the golf club. Headlamps (obviously) essential! The estimated distance of 11 km can be deceiving, as some of the terrain is a little tricky. The total ascent is somewhere in the 650 metre range and most of it is in the first 5 km. See you there.

Great first group run in good few weeks. A few good climbs and not too much mud
